Six hours later, he was discovered breathing in the hospital morgue, leading to an investigation by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. The Gilbert Police Department recommended child abuse charges against the parents, who allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana earlier that day, potentially impairing their awareness of the child wandering off.
