Jake Lang, a Republican candidate for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat with a history of racist and antisemitic rhetoric, has been jailed on a $1 million bond for allegedly making terroristic threats against a Black teenager. Lang was arrested after reportedly threatening to “take care of it himself” if a jury did not find the teen guilty of stabbing another individual. This latest charge follows a prior arrest for criminal trespass at a rally where Lang expressed white supremacist views and had previously thrown a Nazi salute at a protest. Lang has also been previously incarcerated for his involvement in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riots.

The reported threats against the Black teenager come after Lang was arrested for criminal trespass, an incident linked to a rally he attended, which was described as having a meager turnout, titled “Protect White Americans.” This rally, held outside a stadium where a stabbing had occurred, paints a concerning picture of Lang’s public activities and the ideologies he appears to espouse. The victim’s family, in a telling move, has publicly distanced themselves from Lang and his associates, requesting that their image be removed from his website. This indicates a strong rejection of his actions and affiliations by those directly impacted, underscoring the divisive nature of his rhetoric and presence.
