Former New York City interim police commissioner Thomas Donlon has filed a federal racketeering lawsuit against Mayor Eric Adams and his top deputies. The lawsuit accuses Adams of operating the NYPD as a “criminal enterprise” by promoting unqualified loyalists, burying misconduct allegations, and punishing whistleblowers. The suit alleges corruption involving salary increases, overtime payments, and other benefits, as well as obstruction of internal and federal investigations.
