Rebecca Grossman found guilty of murder in Westlake Village crash that killed 2 young brothers

flash yellow then solid yellow, then red, and then pedestrians have the right of way. Must be tough making that left turn on a red light from Agoura onto Lakeview and looking straight ahead, and though there’s no excuse and this should be entirely her fault, I would hope the city makes some changes to make that crosswalk intersection more clearly visible to drivers. I hope that her client list from their charity starts to dwindle, and that all that money they’ve been hoarding and funneling offshore fire back on them tenfold. This should have made the news here, I’ve never heard of Scott Erickson, Grossman’s friend, even in the baseball hall of fame. I should probably see if this makes the news whenever sentencing happens. Was the trial even broadcast or streamed anywhere? I would be willing to watch this for a while. She was not drunk and they have presented evidence to prove that. They are blaming her for an accident where she would not have faced prison in any other state. A pedestrian at a crosswalk will always have this advantage in the United States. “Rebecca Grossman initially told officers that she was “out driving around” when the crash occurred, but at trial, defense attorneys said she was on her way to a store to get business cards.” Defense strategies are always interesting to see play out in court. So saddened to hear about this story. Tragic beyond words. She put a psychologist on the stand? Wow. I bet she was paid handsomely to take that stand and say the things she did. No real psychologist is going to say that someone who hit and ran, killed 2 young boys, and tried to blame it on her boyfriend is going through a hard time on the stand. She’s a wealthy, entitled criminal that is feeling the reality of her actions. She got treated fairly by the courts so far. I am curious to see how taking her into custody goes. Does anyone have any idea where she is being housed before her hearing? Could not agree more. Anyone left unattended should realize what they are doing. Yes, she is a criminal, but she is white so I would not raise my expectations too high. White people are incarcerated in much smaller numbers for the wrongs they have done. Black people also get out less often on bail, to begin with. I don’t think life in prison is the appropriate sentence for anyone who is convicted of such crimes. I have known other people who have done far worse things and have shown much less remorse but received much lighter sentences. I wish the best of luck to the family of those involved in the situation. Suing for a large settlement could bring about a lot. It is almost impossible to regain things as they were prior to events such as these. Would be curious to see if there is any civil law that could hold someone financially accountable far past their prison sentence. There should be some kind of restitution payback where people must pay back every single penny earned whether in life in jail or out on the streets. Can’t prepare for this when they so far haven’t done anything like that. I’m pretty sure this isn’t her fault. Maybe she had a mechanical fail on the vehicle. I do not know the whole story so it is wrong to assume that it was due to a mechanical problem. Her trial must have been a mess. The intersection was deadly as all. And in one intersection, within 2 blocks. 3 students killed. Just heard that his husband runs a burn center and was often shown on commercials seeking donations due to how prestigious that center was to treat at. Will the publicity scare any of their donors or lower interest in their treatment. Just thinking of this happening financially hurts me so much. Maybe the husband should have done more publicly. Maybe he is not as strong as he appears in those commercials. That is tough for him to deal with something he never really could imagine going through. Would you imagine going through that? I certainly can’t.I remember seeing this all on the news when it happened. It is just so troubling. Maybe there should just be more officers on the street. Patrols always assure safety. Being responsible should not be the last on someone’s schedule. Maybe a breathalyzer should be required for all vehicles. Even just a grade or violation. Would be the most effective way to stop drunk driving. Becoming popular for all ages, races, and levels of inebriation. Maybe require better tech too, more than just screens, but air strips for co2. Do that and we’ll see less losses. Would like to thank those who have given their time to consider the situation with their whole heart and expressed their deep insight and opinions. You guys are heroes. We all appreciate you. What do you think could happen for the children that day caused them to act so impulsively and risk so much? Maybe there was a trauma. Maybe anxiety. People didn’t always act like this. Something is wrong with society nowadays. He lost everything. That is hard. I mean that is a crime. I wonder what his point of view is. Wonder if there will be a movie about this. That would be great. If you haven’t heard of it yet, you should check it out. The suspense, the drama, everything going on will have me glued to the screen. I hope they do everything they need and require to coerce those impersonal people alive into saying the truth. Liberties taken that way really defeat many causes. Hope the people that need to know get informed due to that action. Hope all the people unable to be here get their proper respect and tribute. Those kids deserved a life beyond a tragedy. They would have done so much more. It just breaks my heart to think of that. Let’s hope nothing like that will ever happen again. That should be the top priority of our society. And think- where would you go from there? Where could anyone go to get a better awareness of living in a safer world? Maybe a stop sign, or a phone call. Could work. Could improve. Maybe a life saved because of it. One can only hope. I hope justice prevails and the truth comes out. Thank you for listening to my thoughts on the tragedy that has befallen those involved. Let’s all come together to make the world a safer place for everyone. Thank you for your time.
