As I sit here reflecting on the news of a US man being arrested for allegedly starting California’s Line Fire, my mind is filled with questions and frustrations. What kind of person deliberately sets a fire, knowing the potential devastation it can cause? How do authorities even begin to track down suspects in cases like this, where the perpetrator could easily drive off without a trace? As I sit here reflecting on the devastating news of Texas’ Smokehouse Creek Fire becoming the second-largest wildfire in U.S. history, my heart goes out to all those affected by this disaster. The sheer magnitude of this fire, burning through 1.1 million acres and only roughly 3% contained, is truly staggering. It is now the largest and most destructive fire in Texas history, with hundreds of structures and houses destroyed, and sadly, even the loss of human life reported.
