Ballots damaged after USPS mailbox lit on fire in Phoenix: Police

The news that a USPS mailbox was lit on fire in Phoenix, damaging several ballots, rattled me more than I initially expected. I couldn’t fathom how a single act of arson could affect the voting process, especially during such a crucial time. It’s astonishing to think that someone would willingly engage in a destructive act like this, facing the possibility of three years in prison and a hefty fine. One has to wonder about the mind of someone who would choose to disrupt the democratic process simply to get themselves arrested, as the suspect Dieter Klofkorn claimed.
