As I perused through the results of the recent poll ranking the presidents, I couldn’t help but be struck by the placement of Joe Biden as the 14th-best president and, perhaps unsurprisingly, Donald Trump at the very bottom of the list. The disparity between the two leaves one wondering how we got to a point where such juxtaposition could even be a possibility. Reflecting on Trump’s tumultuous time in office, it’s clear that his actions were divisive, destructive, and detrimental to the very fabric of our democracy.
