As I reflect on the news that President Biden would veto a GOP-backed standalone bill for aid to Israel, I can’t help but feel conflicted. On one hand, I understand the importance of maintaining our alliance with Israel and providing them with the support they need for their defense and security. However, on the other hand, I can’t help but question the necessity of continued aid to a country that is considered a first-world developed nation.
