I am deeply concerned about the recent news regarding Senator Bernie Sanders casting the sole Democratic vote against a bill to send $14 billion in aid to Israel. While I understand that Israel is a close ally to the United States, I cannot help but question the necessity of providing such a substantial amount of financial aid to a country that is not in economic distress.
