As I read about the dam bursting amid flooding in Russia’s Urals and the subsequent evacuation underway, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions. The first thing that comes to mind is the tragic loss of life and the displacement of families due to this natural disaster. It’s heartbreaking to imagine the fear and uncertainty these people must be facing as they are forced to evacuate their homes and seek safety elsewhere.
But then I come across comments blaming Ukraine for this catastrophe, and my empathy is clouded by frustration and anger.
