The idea that Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi has indicated he would run for president if Ukraine holds elections this fall is a significant one, sparking much discussion about the nation’s future leadership. It’s a notion that hinges on a very specific condition – the holding of elections, which, under Ukrainian law, is currently not permissible during wartime.
