US Pulls Most Troops From Estonia, No Presence Planned Beyond 2027

While the bilateral defense agreement remains unchanged, there are no confirmed plans for a U.S. military presence in Estonia beyond 2026, with final decisions contingent on the Pentagon’s defense policy review. This current situation effectively places Estonia and other NATO eastern flank countries in a holding pattern, with decisions primarily driven by U.S. strategic interests, as stated by the Estonian Parliament’s National Defence Committee chairman.
