Speaker Mike Johnson urges Supreme Court to “step in” on Trump verdict
As I reflect on the recent call by House Speaker Mike Johnson to urge the Supreme Court to “step in” on the Trump verdict, I am left with a deep sense of dismay. The idea that one man, a former President no less, should be above the law is not only ludicrous but fundamentally dangerous to the very foundation of our democracy. The legal processes that have been in place for centuries were followed, a jury of peers weighed the evidence, and a verdict was reached.
