I find myself once again contemplating the question that has loomed over the Trump presidency like a dark cloud – shouldn’t Trump release his latest tax returns right about now? It truly boggles the mind that a man holding the highest office in the country continues to evade such a basic level of transparency. The fact that this issue has been met with such ambivalence and acceptance is concerning, to say the least.
His 2016 audit, which seems to have taken on a life of its own, should be wrapping up any decade now, right after infrastructure week, of course. The lack of urgency and demand for accountability when it comes to something as critical as tax returns is baffling.… Continue reading
