As I sit here reflecting on the devastating news of Texas’ Smokehouse Creek Fire becoming the second-largest wildfire in U.S. history, my heart goes out to all those affected by this disaster. The sheer magnitude of this fire, burning through 1.1 million acres and only roughly 3% contained, is truly staggering. It is now the largest and most destructive fire in Texas history, with hundreds of structures and houses destroyed, and sadly, even the loss of human life reported.
