Uvalde shooter’s uncle begged police to let him talk to the gunman
As I read about the tragic events that unfolded in Uvalde, my heart aches for the innocent lives lost and the families forever shattered by senseless violence. The news of the shooter’s uncle, Armando Ramos, begging the police to let him talk to the gunman struck a chord within me. His plea to potentially save lives and end the violence should not have fallen on deaf ears.
The idea of sending someone who had a personal connection to the shooter, who could possibly reach him on a human level, seemed like a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos.
