Ted Cruz is getting nervous that he’s going to lose his Senate seat, and quite frankly, it’s about time. Let’s be real, what has Ted Cruz actually accomplished for the people of Texas during his time in office? From being a spineless obstructionist to failing to champion bipartisan bills that could genuinely make a positive impact on the lives of his constituents, Cruz has done little to deserve the privilege of representing the great state of Texas.
One can’t help but recall the incidents that expose Cruz’s true character, such as his cowardly escape to Cancun while his constituents were left freezing without power or water during the Texas Freeze.… Continue reading
As a woman living in Texas, I am absolutely appalled by the recent call by Texas Republicans for the execution of women who receive abortions. The idea that my own state’s politicians are advocating for such extreme and inhumane measures against women simply for making personal healthcare decisions is beyond disturbing. It is a blatant violation of women’s rights and autonomy.
The fact that these Republican officials are not only pushing for the death penalty for women who have abortions but also for those who undergo IVF procedures is a chilling display of their misogynistic and oppressive views. The idea that women should be punished for exercising control over their own bodies is abhorrent and goes against all principles of human rights and dignity.… Continue reading
Ted Cruz faces losing his seat in Texas, and I couldn’t be happier. Admittedly, I have a special kind of dislike for him, much like Al Franken’s sentiment of liking him less than most of my colleagues but hating him just the same. The recent poll numbers show that Cruz is struggling, especially with independent women and men, and even more glaringly, with a complete lack of support from Democratic women voters. This is a rare and perhaps significant shift in the political landscape of Texas.
Looking back at previous elections, the margins by which Ted Cruz secured his Senate seat are narrowing.… Continue reading
As a Texan, I am deeply frustrated and disappointed by the recent actions of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. His decision to sue five cities, including Austin and San Marcos, over their marijuana policies is a clear abuse of power and a blatant disregard for the principles of smaller government and personal freedom that the Republican Party claims to stand for.
It is ironic that the state government, which often champions the idea of states’ rights and limited federal interference, is now attempting to assert control over municipal governments. If the state government can ignore the federal government’s laws and regulations, then shouldn’t the same logic apply to local governments and their policies?… Continue reading
Greg Abbott vows “this is not over” after Supreme Court border loss. As I read the news about Governor Abbott’s response to the Supreme Court’s ruling on the border, a flood of thoughts and emotions overwhelmed me. It is disheartening to see how politicians like Abbott prioritize their own agenda and political aspirations over the well-being of the people they are meant to serve.
First and foremost, it is evident that Abbott’s defiant stance is nothing more than a political stunt. It feels reminiscent of the tactics employed by Ron DeSantis, another governor who seems more interested in promoting his own image than addressing the real issues at hand.… Continue reading
Just know who is blocking a Border Security deal…It isn’t Biden!
The border security issue has been a hot topic in American politics for years. Republicans have often been champions of this issue, claiming that securing the border is of utmost importance to protect American citizens. However, recent developments have shown that it is not President Biden who is blocking a border security deal, but rather it is the actions and inactions of certain Republican politicians that are standing in the way.
It is disheartening to see how the issue of border security has become nothing more than a political talking point for many Republicans.… Continue reading
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott recently released a statement outlining states’ rights to constitutional self-defense when dealing with a “lawless president.” As a Texan and a loyal American, this statement has left me both deeply concerned and frustrated. It seems that Abbott is using this issue as a political ploy, rather than genuinely addressing the challenges at hand.
First and foremost, it is important to acknowledge that immigration is a complex issue that affects numerous states, not just Texas. So, why is Abbott the only governor making such a fuss? Migrants cross into New Mexico, Arizona, and California as well, yet they are not engaging in the same level of theatrics.… Continue reading
As a Texan, I can’t help but feel frustrated and disillusioned by the actions of our state government. The recent decision by Governor Abbott to offer razor wire to ranchers as a solution to the perceived immigration crisis is nothing more than a political stunt aimed at riling up his base and gaining attention on Fox News. It’s a desperate attempt to divert attention away from real issues and create a spectacle rather than addressing the underlying problems.
Abbott’s decision to seize a park and cover it in razor wire to prevent Border Patrol from apprehending people crossing illegally is misguided at best.… Continue reading
