I find the recent news about Hamas launching a ‘big missile’ attack on Tel Aviv deeply troubling. The audacity of firing rockets at a civilian city like Tel Aviv is not only a blatant act of aggression but also a clear violation of international law. It is absolutely bewildering that a terrorist organization like Hamas, which claims to be fighting for the rights of Palestinians, would resort to such reckless and violent actions.
It is disheartening to see how Hamas continues to prioritize violence and conflict over the well-being of the people they claim to represent. In my neighborhood in Tel Aviv, the sentiment among everyone I’ve spoken to is overwhelmingly against a counterstrike on Iran if it will harm our security alliances. The combination of not wanting to endure back-to-back shutdowns, more reservists being called up, and the preference for anyone but Bibi to lead us further into a war is a common belief. It’s clear that the majority of Israelis, myself included, recognize the importance of maintaining our alliances with other countries, especially considering the small size of our own nation.
