A Goose Creek CISD student was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Baytown, Texas, following a school bus altercation. The shooting occurred around 4 p.m. when a teenage boy approached the female student at a playground and opened fire. The suspect, also a Goose Creek CISD student, is in custody. The investigation is ongoing, with detectives currently gathering evidence.

As I read this shocking news, my heart sank at the thought of a young person just trying to do their job being met with such violence. The fact that the shooter fired seven times at the truck without even attempting to identify a target shows a complete disregard for human life.
It’s terrifying to think that someone could be so trigger-happy, willing to potentially take a life over a simple misunderstanding.
