Illinois Teacher Faces 52 New Sex Abuse Charges
Former Downers Grove South High School teacher Christina Formella faces 52 additional charges, bringing the total to 55, related to alleged sexual abuse of a 15-year-old student. The alleged abuse, spanning from January 2023 to August or September 2024, included at least 50 sexual acts at the school and Formella’s home, along with grooming behavior via text messages. These new charges encompass Criminal Sexual Assault, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, Indecent Solicitation of a Child, and Grooming. While pre-trial release was granted, Formella is prohibited from contacting minors or visiting the school.
