Superintendent fired after allegedly investigating students for not applauding her daughter enough

As a former educator, stories like the one about the superintendent investigating students for not applauding her daughter enough at a high school softball banquet make me question the people in positions of power within the education system. The fact that the superintendent conducted an investigation without notifying coaches or parents, resulting in a player being banned from extracurricular activities unless they signed a confession/apology is abhorrent. The abuse of power and manipulation displayed in this situation is appalling, and the fact that the superintendent lied to the school board about her actions only adds fuel to the fire.

The idea that a person in a leadership role would go to such lengths over applause for their child at a school event is beyond comprehension.… Continue reading
