As I sit down to write about the disturbing incident in the City of Sturgeon involving an officer shooting and killing a small, deaf, and blind dog, I am filled with a range of emotions – anger, sadness, and disbelief. Reading about the details of how this defenseless pet was maced, shot multiple times, and left in a black trash bag by the officer is truly heartbreaking. The lack of value placed on life, whether human or animal, is appalling and unacceptable.
