California Joins Growing National Effort to Ban Smartphone Use in Schools

As a teacher in California, I have seen firsthand the impact of smartphones on students in the classroom. The recent decision to ban smartphone use in schools is a step in the right direction in my opinion. It’s about time that schools address the issue of constant phone usage and its negative effects on education.

Personally, I have noticed that when students are not glued to their phones, there is a significant increase in interaction and engagement in the classroom. Teachers are no longer frustrated by students being distracted by notifications and social media during lessons. In some cases, the ban on smartphones has even led to a decrease in bullying incidents, showing that there are tangible benefits to this policy.… Continue reading
