I can’t help but shake my head when I hear Elon Musk making grand statements like predicting that a Kamala Harris presidency would “doom humanity” and “destroy” the Mars program. It’s clear that these comments are nothing more than a desperate attempt to shift blame for the failures of his Mars colonization dreams. Since 2007, Musk has been promising us a future where humans walk on another planet, but here we are in 2024, and his Starship program is nothing but a series of explosions and vaporware.
It’s disheartening to see someone I once respected turn into a caricature of a villain.… Continue reading
The news that astronauts stuck on the space station will be returning on a SpaceX capsule is certainly a topic that has stirred up a lot of discussion and opinions. The situation involving the Boeing-sponsored extended vacation in space has highlighted some concerning issues around safety, competency, and decision-making processes within the aerospace industry.
Despite the reassurances that the astronauts were not stranded and that they were collecting more data, the decision to bring them back on a SpaceX capsule instead of the Starliner seems like the most logical and safe option. The fact that NASA and Boeing couldn’t come to a mutual agreement on the level of safety risk speaks volumes about the differences in priorities between the two organizations.… Continue reading
SpaceX repeatedly polluted waters in Texas this year, regulators found. As the news spreads, one has to wonder, is anyone surprised? Corporations, especially those with significant power and influence like SpaceX, often prioritize profit over environmental protection. It seems that once again, the environment has become a casualty in the pursuit of financial gain. The violations found by regulators could potentially hinder SpaceX’s plans to increase Starship launches from its Starbase facility in South Texas. However, one cannot help but wonder if this will truly put a stop to their ambitions.
The idea of corporations deflecting external costs onto the environment is not a new concept.… Continue reading
In light of recent news surrounding Elon Musk and SpaceX, it’s clear that the man has been swimming in deep waters tainted by allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination against women within the company. As someone with a strong stance against such misconduct, it’s disheartening to see someone of Musk’s stature being accused of actions that can have severe consequences on the employees and the work environment at SpaceX.
The allegations of engineers being fired for bringing up concerns about sexual harassment and discrimination is not something that should be taken lightly. Employees have the right to voice their concerns and raise red flags when they believe that something unethical or illegal is happening within the workplace.… Continue reading
have a long history of valuing land and natural spaces. Boca Chica State Park, with its unique ecosystem, has been a place of great importance to local residents and environmentalists alike. So when news broke that Texas had unanimously approved handing over a portion of this beloved park to Elon Musk’s SpaceX, the backlash was immediate.
Many saw this decision as yet another example of corporate welfare, with Musk benefiting from public resources at the expense of taxpayers. After all, SpaceX has received billions in government contracts, including from the US Government, making Musk a favorite of politicians and regulators.
But, as I delved deeper into the details of the land swap, I began to see a different side to the story.… Continue reading
The recent revelation of a Chinese retailer caught selling Starlink terminals to Russia has sparked a wave of shock and disbelief among observers. Starlink, a satellite internet service provided by SpaceX, is not officially sold in China, which raises questions about how these terminals ended up in Russian hands through the black market. It is interesting to note that Starlink requires users to provide the intended location for the device, and if it is used in a different area, the service simply refuses to work until the location is changed. This means that SpaceX has a way of tracking the terminals and the users who are being billed for the service.… Continue reading
Russia is using SpaceX’s Starlink satellite devices in Ukraine, according to sources. This revelation is both surprising and concerning, as it raises questions about the potential misuse of technology in a conflict zone. As an individual with a background in the telecom industry, I have followed Elon Musk’s Starlink project closely and have had some reservations about its implications.
Starlink is a revolutionary idea that aims to provide global internet access through a network of satellites. While its mission is commendable, the current situation in Ukraine highlights a flaw in its implementation. The lack of control over who can access the network poses a serious security risk, especially in a sensitive geopolitical situation like Ukraine.… Continue reading
