An unknown disease has claimed the lives of 143 people in southwest Congo, according to local authorities. This alarming development has understandably sparked concerns, particularly given the region’s limited medical resources and the history of past outbreaks. The symptoms reported mirror those of a flu-like illness, including high fever and severe headaches.
