As a diver, someone who finds solace and wonder in the depths of the sea, this news hits hard. The beauty and richness of coral reefs are unparalleled, providing a habitat for countless species and serving as a vital pillar of marine ecosystems. To hear that China, a modern colonialist power, has played the largest role in this destruction is disheartening.
