This means anyone born on or after January 1, 2009, will be prevented from legally purchasing tobacco, with the aim of establishing a smoke-free generation. Upon receiving royal assent, the legislation will also grant ministers expanded powers to regulate tobacco, vaping, and nicotine products, including aspects like flavours and packaging.
