Jacksonville Jailer “Incident” Leaves Inmate Dead, FBI Investigation Launched
Charles Faggart, a 31-year-old father and local chef, died Thursday after an undisclosed incident in the Duval County jail. Sheriff T.K. Waters, despite claims of transparency, has refused to detail the incident, which left Faggart brain dead since Monday. Faggart’s family, represented by attorney Belkis Plata, demands answers regarding the circumstances surrounding his death and criticizes the Sheriff’s lack of communication. The Sheriff’s office has suspended nine jail staff members and requested FBI assistance in the ongoing investigation.
