Publicly Funded Satellite Wipes Out Billions in Russian Assets

Since September 2022, Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence (DIU) has been supplied with over 5,900 radar satellite images through the “people’s satellite” initiative, funded by Ukrainian donations and facilitated by the Serhii Prytula Foundation’s acquisition of an ICEYE satellite. These images are utilized daily by DIU space intelligence units to monitor Russian military assets and occupied territories, identify targets, plan strikes, and assess their effectiveness, leveraging SAR radar technology for all-weather, day-or-night imaging capabilities. This crucial access to orbital intelligence, providing high-resolution imagery, has significantly bolstered Ukraine’s defence capabilities and contributed to substantial Russian losses, strengthening the nation’s resilience.
