Hospital Fires 15 Nurses After Suicide of Child Patient, Sparks Outrage and Raises Questions of Accountability

Following the suicide of a 12-year-old girl at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in Spokane, Washington, fifteen nurses were terminated. The girl, Sarah Niyimbona, had been admitted multiple times for suicide attempts and required 24-hour supervision, which the hospital allegedly failed to provide. The lawsuit claims staff allowed Sarah to leave her room undetected, leading to her death after she jumped from a parking garage.
