Navalny Lawyers Sentenced to Years in Russian Penal Colony
Three lawyers representing Alexei Navalny, the prominent Russian opposition leader, have recently been sentenced to years in a Russian penal colony on charges of “extremist activity.” This sentencing highlights the increasingly repressive environment within Russia and underscores the lengths to which the Putin regime will go to silence dissent.
The accusations of “extremist activity” leveled against these lawyers seem utterly arbitrary and politically motivated.
