As I sit here and reflect on the news that Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez will resign next month after a corruption conviction, I can’t help but feel a sense of justice prevailing. It’s about time that individuals who betray the trust of the people they are meant to serve face the consequences of their actions. The fact that Menendez is finally being held accountable for his corruption is a step in the right direction for our political system.
