As I read the news about the Florida teacher who was arrested for allegedly putting a 3-year-old in a headlock during storytime, my heart sank and my blood boiled. How could someone, who is supposed to be a caregiver and nurturer for young children, resort to such violent behavior towards a defenseless child? The paraeducator who witnessed this horrific incident and had the courage to report it deserves all the praise and recognition for standing up for the vulnerable child in their care.
