The New York Times reported that these officials resisted a report that would challenge Trump’s claim that Good “violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer.” The Department of Justice then proposed legally questionable investigative approaches, leading half a dozen federal prosecutors, including U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson, to resign in protest.
