Illinois judge who reversed rape conviction removed from bench after panel finds he circumvented law

As I sit down to reflect on the recent news of an Illinois judge who reversed a rape conviction and has now been removed from the bench for circumventing the law, my mind is filled with a mix of outrage and disbelief. In October of 2021, Judge Adrian had found an 18-year-old individual guilty of sexual assault at a graduation party, only to later reverse the conviction in January of 2022, stating that the 148 days spent in jail was punishment enough. This decision defies all logic and moral compass.
