I can’t even begin to fathom the depth of betrayal and hurt that Buku Abi must be feeling after accusing her own father, R. Kelly, of sexually abusing her as a child. The courage it takes to speak out against such a monstrous act, especially when it involves a parent, is immeasurable. It’s heartbreaking to think about the pain and trauma she must have endured for so many years, carrying this burden in silence. The fact that she chose to come forward now, as an adult, shows incredible strength and bravery.
