The recent news of Sarah Huckabee Sanders violating Arkansas law with a pricey purchase of a lavish lectern has left many of us questioning the integrity of our political leaders. The fact that she spent public funds on a trip to Paris for her friends under the guise of buying an expensive lectern is not only unethical but downright criminal.
It is disheartening to see someone in a position of power abuse their authority for personal gain. Sanders, who comes from a political background, should be held to a higher standard of accountability. I cannot believe that Gov. Sanders has declared a state of emergency ahead of the upcoming eclipse. The reasoning behind this decision seems dubious at best, especially considering the absurd suggestions and comments that have surfaced in response to this announcement. The idea that there might be a shortage of essentials due to the influx of eclipse watchers is laughable. I can’t help but shake my head in disbelief at the news of the US town’s $565,000 sand dune project being washed away in just a matter of days. It seems almost comical how individuals trucked in massive amounts of sand, thinking it would protect their seaside homes, only to watch it disappear with the tide. The irony of the situation is almost poetic in its own right – a failed attempt to defy nature’s forces with nothing more than loose piles of sand.
