Telegram repeatedly refused to join child protection schemes

I find myself grappling with conflicting thoughts regarding Telegram’s repeated refusal to join child protection schemes. On one hand, I understand the importance of privacy in encrypted messaging systems. The whole point of using platforms like Telegram is to ensure that our conversations remain private and secure. However, when reports of child abuse and illicit activities surface on these platforms, it brings up a moral dilemma.
