Is the press ‘sanewashing’ Trump?
The press is ‘sanewashing’ Trump. It’s glaringly obvious. From the way they clean up his nonsensical ramblings into coherent statements to how they downplay his incompetence, the media is complicit in normalizing a man who is unfit for office. The New York Times took Trump’s jumbled response about child care and twisted it to make him seem like a serious candidate. They tiptoe around calling out his lies and failures, giving him a platform that he does not deserve.
Mainstream media outlets like NPR and CBS are guilty of treating Trump as just another politician, failing to hold him accountable for his reckless behavior and dangerous rhetoric.… Continue reading
