Pregnant US Citizen Detained by ICE: Warrantless Entry and Use of Force Questioned
Nine-months pregnant U.S. citizen Cary Lopez was hospitalized after being arrested by federal agents for allegedly obstructing the arrest of her undocumented husband. The arrest, which occurred on private property, was captured on video showing agents ignoring Lopez’s protests. Lopez, experiencing stomach pains from the incident, was released from custody without charges but is now under medical supervision due to concerns for her and her baby’s health. The Department of Homeland Security has yet to comment on the incident.
