As news of the supposed “border crisis” spreads, it seems that many individuals are easily swayed by the manipulative tactics used by certain media outlets and political figures. The recent spectacle at the Texas border, where protestors gathered in anticipation of an “immigrant invasion,” has left many feeling disillusioned and let down.

When I saw the headline about a Trump supporter becoming a diehard fan after witnessing him hug the American flag, I couldn’t help but shake my head in disbelief. How could such a simple gesture, so devoid of substance, have such a profound impact on someone’s political allegiance?
