This misinformation, initially spread by Fox News, was amplified on social media, ignoring the FBI’s investigation into the attacker’s potential terrorist affiliations. The ongoing political exploitation of the tragedy overshadows the mourning process and the investigation into the attack itself.
Following a deadly New Orleans attack, Donald Trump wrongly claimed that the perpetrator was an immigrant and that the U.S. crime rate was unprecedentedly high, assertions contradicted by readily available facts. This incident revealed Trump’s failure to provide accurate information, his attempt to exploit tragedy for political gain, and his overall lack of credibility. His subsequent boast of being “right about everything” further highlighted his disregard for truth and responsibility. This behavior portends a concerning pattern for his upcoming term.
Cancun Cruz strikes again, and once more, it’s a disgraceful episode that shakes my faith in decency. The recent anti-trans ad featuring non-trans minors without their permission is not just a lapse in judgment; it epitomizes the exploitation of vulnerable individuals, especially minors, for political gain. It’s outrageous that a public figure like Cruz would use innocent children in this manner, all in a desperate ploy to further his agenda.
Reflecting on this situation, I can’t help but think of the myriad young people who are already facing tremendous struggle and uncertainty. The recent news of the Trump campaign using photos from Arlington National Cemetery that clearly show neighboring graves, despite objections from the families of the fallen soldiers, is not only appalling but a clear violation of federal law. The image of Trump giving a smile and a thumbs-up next to the grave of a Green Beret who served 8 combat tours in Afghanistan and later lost his life to PTSD is not only disrespectful but downright disgraceful.
It is sickening to see how Trump and his campaign continue to exploit the sacrifices of our military for their political gain. The fact that there are no consequences for such blatant disregard for the sanctity of Arlington Cemetery is truly disheartening.… Continue reading
