Trump’s Climate Strategy: Profiting from Disaster

The election of Donald Trump portends a worsening climate crisis, exacerbating existing challenges. Already, unacknowledged climate risks are causing a massive undervaluation of American properties, reaching trillions of dollars in losses and creating an uninsurable housing market in many areas. This will trigger mass displacement and economic hardship, particularly impacting vulnerable communities. A Trump administration, however, views this not as a problem, but as an exploitable opportunity for predatory industries and political profiteering, jeopardizing any effective climate response.

Trump and MAGA Falsely Blame New Orleans Attack on Border

A truck attack in New Orleans’ French Quarter, resulting in 15 deaths and numerous injuries, was immediately politicized. Despite the attacker being identified as a U.S.-born citizen and Army veteran, President-elect Trump and several Republican figures falsely linked the incident to lax border policies and undocumented immigrants. This misinformation, initially spread by Fox News, was amplified on social media, ignoring the FBI’s investigation into the attacker’s potential terrorist affiliations. The ongoing political exploitation of the tragedy overshadows the mourning process and the investigation into the attack itself.

Cancun Cruz strikes again. Anti-trans ad features non-trans minors without their permission.

Cancun Cruz strikes again, and once more, it’s a disgraceful episode that shakes my faith in decency. The recent anti-trans ad featuring non-trans minors without their permission is not just a lapse in judgment; it epitomizes the exploitation of vulnerable individuals, especially minors, for political gain. It’s outrageous that a public figure like Cruz would use innocent children in this manner, all in a desperate ploy to further his agenda.

Reflecting on this situation, I can’t help but think of the myriad young people who are already facing tremendous struggle and uncertainty. The world can be a harsh place for minors, particularly those questioning their identity or experiencing societal pressures that they can’t yet fully understand.… Continue reading

Trump campaign uses photos from Arlington that clearly show neighboring graves over other families objections.

The recent news of the Trump campaign using photos from Arlington National Cemetery that clearly show neighboring graves, despite objections from the families of the fallen soldiers, is not only appalling but a clear violation of federal law. The image of Trump giving a smile and a thumbs-up next to the grave of a Green Beret who served 8 combat tours in Afghanistan and later lost his life to PTSD is not only disrespectful but downright disgraceful.

It is sickening to see how Trump and his campaign continue to exploit the sacrifices of our military for their political gain. The fact that there are no consequences for such blatant disregard for the sanctity of Arlington Cemetery is truly disheartening.… Continue reading
