I have been a lifelong GOP voter, but in 2016, my perspective began to shift. At that time, I was more right-leaning and held the belief that both sides had flaws, but liberals were worse. I always prided myself on being a Gay Black Republican, believing that my values aligned with the party’s core principles. Disillusioned Americans are losing faith in almost every profession. It’s a troubling reality that seems to be growing more apparent with each passing day. People are becoming increasingly skeptical of those in positions of power, whether they be politicians, CEOs, or even journalists. The trust that was once bestowed upon these professionals is eroding, leaving many feeling disillusioned and betrayed.
