Anti-Trump Americans Face Exhaustion, Temptation to Tune Out
Following Donald Trump’s 2024 reelection, the initial shock and widespread activism seen after his 2016 win have been replaced by a more muted response from many centrist and left-leaning Americans. This “tune-out” reflects feelings of exhaustion and disillusionment stemming from repeated setbacks in opposing Trump’s agenda. Consequently, media viewership has declined, and some are prioritizing personal well-being over constant political engagement.
