Uvalde parents outraged after independent report finds police officers didn’t violate policy

It’s outrageous to think that in today’s society, where we place so much trust in law enforcement to protect us, an independent report has found that police officers in Uvalde did not violate policy during a tragic school shooting. The fact that there was a training class held just two months before the massacre, and yet all of the instructors were inside the school hallway during the shooting, is absolutely mind-boggling. These are the individuals who are supposed to protect our children, yet they failed miserably in their duty.

The investigators seemingly tried to shift blame onto the teachers and school staff for not following active shooter drills, as if it was their responsibility to do the job of law enforcement.… Continue reading

Florida officer arrested for child pornography after first day on job

I can’t wrap my head around the audacity of a 19-year-old fresh on the job as a law enforcement officer being arrested for child pornography. It’s a sickening and disturbing situation that hits too close to home for many, especially considering the power dynamics at play. The fact that this individual was already abusing his authority by coercing young girls into sending explicit photos is abhorrent. It’s truly horrifying to think about how someone so young could already be so corrupted by power and entitlement.

The speed at which this individual was terminated by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office speaks volumes about their dedication to upholding the law and protecting their community.… Continue reading

SPD officer that hit and killed Jaahnavi Kandula in crosswalk will not face charges

The recent news about the SPD officer who hit and killed Jaahnavi Kandula in a crosswalk will not be facing any charges has left me speechless. Hearing about Officer Kevin Dave carelessly driving 74 miles an hour in a 25 mph zone, not continuously running his siren, and still getting off scot-free is not only enraging but also disheartening. When we look at the Washington State statute that grants certain privileges to authorized emergency vehicles, it’s evident that there are conditions in place to ensure the safety of innocent civilians. The fact that a life was lost due to reckless driving, yet no charges were filed, is a clear example of the unjust system we live in.… Continue reading

Body of missing Tennessee deputy who disappeared after making arrest recovered: Officials

The tragic news of a missing Tennessee deputy whose body was found after he disappeared following an arrest is a harrowing reminder of the dangers law enforcement officers face daily. It was reported that the deputy, a New York native, was texting and radioing while driving in an area he was unfamiliar with, ultimately leading to the fatal accident that claimed his life and that of the woman he had arrested, who was found drowned in the back seat. The negligence and distracted driving displayed by the deputy resulted in a preventable tragedy that has left families devastated and questions lingering about the accountability of those tasked with protecting and serving.… Continue reading

New Videos Contradict NYPD Account of Lead-Up to Times Square Attack on Cops

It’s both disheartening and infuriating to see that even with the presence of body cameras, police officers still lie about what actually happens during altercations. It makes me wonder just how often they lied before these cameras became a requirement. It’s a broken record, but something needs to change.

One thing that strikes me is the fact that when a civilian says something happened and it turns out not to be true, it’s considered a lie. But when a police officer does the same, it’s often labeled as “video contradicts” or “accounts vary.”… Continue reading
