Fetterman Faces 2028 Primary Challenge from Pennsylvania Working Families Party
The Pennsylvania Working Families Party has declared its intention to challenge Senator John Fetterman in the 2028 election. The decision comes after Fetterman’s vote in favor of a Republican budget bill, which the party argues will negatively impact working Pennsylvanians by potentially removing healthcare. The party, citing Fetterman’s consistent votes with Republicans, has labeled him a “Trump-enabling corporate Democrat.” Although the party supported Fetterman in the 2022 Senate race, they now plan to recruit and support a primary challenger, and will be holding candidate trainings throughout Pennsylvania.
