Australian Man Faces Thai Justice After Gruesome Discovery
An Australian man has been arrested at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport in connection with the alleged murder of a 17-year-old Thai girl, whose body was found in a suitcase. The suspect, a 46-year-old, was apprehended while attempting to depart the country on a flight to Perth. Investigations, aided by CCTV footage and information provided by the suspect, led to the discovery of the victim’s body, bearing signs of violence, near a railway track in Pattaya. Police are awaiting postmortem results before filing charges, which could include murder and abduction. The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has confirmed it is providing consular assistance to the detained national.
