I can’t even begin to express how disgusted and outraged I am after reading about the horrific treatment of Gaza medics by Israeli troops. The fact that individuals who dedicate their lives to saving others were subjected to such humiliation and brutality is beyond comprehension. Strip-searched, beaten, and verbally abused, these medics were treated like criminals instead of the heroes they truly are. It is a clear violation of basic human rights and decency.

Anyone in the Arab American community who thinks that not voting for Biden to make a statement about Gaza is a good idea is simply deluding themselves. As much as I wish Biden had taken a stronger stance on Israel’s actions, the reality is that Trump would be a thousand times worse. This is not a situation where we have the luxury of sitting out an election or voting out of protest.
