I am both relieved and hopeful upon hearing reports of a ‘local rebellion’ within Gaza, where Gazans are allegedly attempting to stop Hamas from firing at Israel. This courageous act demonstrates a shift in the mindset of locals who are tired of being used as pawns in the ongoing conflict. The fact that residents are willing to stand up against Hamas, despite the risks involved, is a clear indication that Hamas’s grip on power may be weakening.
