When we hear about humanitarian aid being misused or exploited, it’s easy to become disillusioned with the state of the world. The recent reports of Hamas allegedly killing aid workers in Gaza to create a food crisis is a stark reminder of the depths to which some people will sink for their own gain. The idea that aid meant to help the most vulnerable is being sold for profit is sickening, to say the least.

I was shocked when I heard about the Palestinians demolishing a Jewish archaeological site in the West Bank. The destruction of historical and cultural sites is always disheartening. These places hold significance not just for a specific group but for the whole world’s heritage. It’s a shame that extremist groups are often the ones responsible for such devastation, similar to what we’ve seen with ISIS and the Taliban in the past.

Hamas shows signs of return in Gaza City after Israel withdraws most of its troops from the area. This comes as no surprise to those who are familiar with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. It seems that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are playing a never-ending game of whack-a-mole, as they try to eradicate Hamas but find them returning time and time again.
